GET YOUR 50/50 TICKETS!
Broker/Owner Jon Dick is pleased to announce that Jon Dick and Associates Realty will once again be the proud Sponsor of the Calgary Flames 50/50 Tickets for the 2010-2011 season!
"We're excited to be involved not only with the Calgary Flames, but with the Flames Foundation for Life, the recipient of the 50/50 ticket proceeds," says Jon. "We feel this is an excellent way to give back to the community."
The 50/50 raffle is a time-honored tradition at Calgary Flames games which gives purchasers the chance to win $17 thousand to $30 thousand at each game! All proceeds from the Calgary Flames 50/50 raffles are directed to the charitable arm of the Calgary Flames; the Flames Foundation for Life. Through various initiatives, the Foundation has touched the lives of thousands of people throughout Southern Alberta.
Over $32 million in funding has been donated to education, medical research, health, amateur sport and recreation in this province. The Flames Foundation for Life is made up of four pillars: Rotary/Flames House, Rotary/Flames Park at Ronald McDonald House, REACH and Grassroots & Amateur Sports.
The Flames Foundation for Life was established in conjunction with the Flames 25th anniversary in 2005 in which Rotary Clubs of Calgary to each give back a $2.5 million gift to the community with Rotary/Flames House and Rotary/Flames park at the new Ronald McDonald House. The park is an oasis of greenery with a playground and bikepaths. The new Ronald McDonald House.
As compared to the original Ronald McDonald House, which was able to accommodate up to 15 families, the new facility has the capacity to take in 23 out-of-town families and provide them with a compassionate, safe and an affordable home away from home. Approximately 75 per cent of the families, whose children are undergoing treatment in a Calgary hospital, come from Alberta.
The 50/50 draw assists in the funding of momentous occasions like the ground breaking of the Rotary/Flames house; construction of Southern Alberta's first free standing hospice. Proceeds from last season's 50-50 draws directed over $1Million to the Flames Foundation for Life.
"We are blessed with this opportunity to continue our fundraising efforts both in and out of the real estate industry," says Jon. "Jon Dick and Associates Realty is also proud to support the Calgary Real Estate Board's Charitable Foundation "Home at Last" Campaign." The Crestwood Development provides housing to low-income, working families and some barrier-free accessible housing units for disabled Calgarians.
